July 12 (Wed) 7:00pm The Collective - Coast Guard to the Rescue

Event Date:
Wednesday, July 12, 2017 - 7:00pm

This month we are proud to invite the San Francisco Coast Guard to talk about their careers in aviation and the hard-won lessons of search and rescue flying.
Commissioned as an Ensign in the US Navy, he attended Navy Flight School in Pensacola, FL and earned his wings of gold in 2001. He was then assigned to flying duty in San Diego, CA where he flew the SH-60B and MH-60R Seahawk helicopters in anti-submarine warfare and maritime strike missions from 2001-2008. During this time he spent more than 18 months deployed on destroyers within carrier strike groups and participated in Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM in the Arabian Gulf. In 2008 he accepted a transfer into the Coast Guard and has been flying the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, conducting search and rescue and maritime counter-drug interdiction, as well as many other Coast Guard missions. His duty stations have included Port Angeles WA, Jacksonville FL, and San Francisco CA.

The Collective will be having its monthly meeting at the new schedule of 7:00pm Wednesday July 12th.  SCFC's helicopter pilot group is proud to explore the safety and fun that everyone can have whilst flying.
